Valley Art Center presents Where Are We? an exploration of Surrealism. Wander with us through dreams and the landscape of the unconscious. This exhibition is an open call to any artist working in any medium, from the Chagrin Valley to far, far beyond. Juried by John McCutcheon of Sean Christopher Gallery in Columbus, Ohio. Let's get weird.

What you will need

• At least one digital image of each art piece, up to three submissions. These must be good photographs of the actual, original art work you want to enter to potentially exhibit. We recommend 3d artists submit at least one photomosaic image for each submitted piece featuring multiple views of each submitted piece in a single image.
• Digital images must be saved in the JPG (JPEG) file format.
• Your pictures should be no smaller than 960 pixels and no larger than 4600 pixels on the longest side.
• They should be no bigger than 4 Mb in file size.
• Please make sure you are settled on titles, medium descriptions and prices. The way you identify yourself and your work in the submission form is what we utilize when we present your information on art labels and in program listings. Valley Art Center is not responsible for misspellings or incorrect information arising from inaccurately entered information.

Entering artwork submissions
After logging in or creating a new account, you will Add a new submission. You will fill out the form with Category, Title, Dimensions (height, width, and depth), Sale price (all work entered must be for sale for this exhibit), and Medium for your first artwork submission. You will then pay your entry fee and upload an Attachment that is the photo of your artwork. If you would like to enter more than one work of art, please upload and pay for each entry separately.

  • CTE deadline, June 3, 2022 at 4 p.m.
  • Notification of jury results; Tuesday, June 7, 2022 by 4 pm.  Please do not call or email VAC for results.

• Artwork delivery
  • Shipping—please plan for shipped art to arrive by July 2, 2022 or earlier and include a prepaid return shipping label inside your package.
  • Friday drop off, July 1, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Saturday drop off, July 2, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

• Event dates
  • Exhibit opens, July 15, 2022
  • Exhibit closes, August 24, 2022

• Artwork pick up
  • Return shipping, ASAP after close of exhibit
  • Friday pick up, August 26, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Saturday pick up, August 27, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
